| | Short Description of My Current Work
The Office of Community Engagement at Ripon College connects students to local non-profits through direct service, service-learning and internships. As a VISTA at this site I facilitate service-learning partnerships, plan skill-building trainings and reflections for volunteers, and aid community partners with event planning and volunteer management.
Professional History
In fall 2006, during the first semester of my junior year, I participated in Marquette University’s Cape Town Service-Learning Study Abroad Program. My service-learning site was a children’s home for those orphaned by AIDS or tuberculosis, which was located in a township outside of Cape Town proper.

What I'm Most Excited About in My Current Work
I like understanding the academic content of service-learning classes and matching it up to service opportunities. Ripon College offers some fascinating classes, and seeing real world connections to the course goals is very exciting!
